Have you ever wondered if you could live a soft life even as a mom? As a busy mom, you may feel like it’s impossible because there’s never any down time; every moment is spoken for. Between taking care of your family, juggling work and chores, and trying to squeeze in a little self-care, the idea of living a “soft life” might feel out of reach. The truth is the soft life isn’t about luxury or perfection. It’s about intentional living, slowing down, and creating space for peace, joy, and YOU. If your’e looking for easy ways to step into your soft life era, this post is for you. In this blog post I’m sharing easy, practical ways to help you step into your soft life starting right where you are. Trade overwhelm for ease: slow down, plan ahead, and set goals.

Let’s gooo! And yes, I’ll show you how I use my own Goal GettHER Workbook to make soft living a daily reality.

Wait— what even is the soft life?

Let’s rewind a little. You may have heard the term “soft life” floating around, but what does it really mean, especially for moms? In short, the soft life is about choosing ease, intention, and emotional wellness over hustle, chaos, and burnout. It’s not about being perfect. It’s about choosing peace, presence, and pleasure on purpose.

3 Easy Ways to Step Into Your Soft Life as a Mom

  1. Slow down

Slowing down is the foundation of a soft life. It doesnt mean doing nothing. It means being more present, more intentional, and giving yourself permission to move at a pace that supports your peace, not just your productivity or the requests of someone else.

When you’re not rushing through every task:

  • You notice and appreciate the sweet, simple moments in life
  • You reduce mental overload (a root cause of burnout)
  • You reconnect with yourself
  • You gain space and time to notice, figure out, and reflect on what you truly want, need, and enjoy, the core pieces of your soft life.
  1. Plan and Prepare: Planning Isnt Pressure, It’s Peace

As a mom, long to-do lists and pressure to be hyper-productive may be what pops in your mind when you hear “plan”. But  in the soft life, planning isn’t about doing more, it’s about doing less with more ease.
Planning gives you a gentle structure that supports your

  • Peace of mind
  • Energy
  • Flexibility
  • Goals

Think: meal prep, laid-out clothes, quick morning or evening routines—anything that lightens the mental load and gives you back a little time and clarity.

  1. Goal Setting: Set Intentional Goals

When most people think about goals they think of climbing the corporate ladder at work or at least that’s what the long drawn out systems for goal setting cater to. When most moms hear “goals,” they think of hustle culture, “Quit your job and make this amount of money as a stay at home mom.”

In the soft life, goal setting isn’t about climbing the corporate ladder or chasing perfection. it’s about creating a life that reflects what truly matters to YOU.

Soft life goals:

  • Keep you connected to yourself, not just your roles. You’re more than just “mom” or “wife” or “parter” or your career title.
  • Reconnect with your dreams, needs, and identity outside of motherhood.
  • Create direction, not pressure
  • Invite ease into growth
  • Help you celebrate progress, not perfection

For me, that looks like prioritizing goals around peace, energy, and joy; not just productivity.

That’s exactly why I created the Goal GettHER Workbook. It’s the simple system I personally use to:

  • Set aligned goals
  • Break them down into bite-sized habits
  • Track progress without the burnout.

Goals aren’t just for achievement, they’re for alignment.
